Kit List

This is the Typical kit list for a weekend or week camp.

Personal Kit

Each Scout/Cub Will need to bring the following Items:
Full Scout/Cub uniform to be worn to and from the Camp with strong black or dark coloured shoes (no white or coloured trainers allowed with uniform).

In Addition:

A compact Sleeping Bag
Ground sheet (waterproof)
Pyjamas
2 Towels
Swimming costume
Washing kit (soap, flannel, toothbrush, paste, comb, etc.) in a bag
Anorak or waterproof coat
2 Pairs of knee length or above shorts (no long trousers allowed)
Spare underclothes
Sweater
Spare shoes, trainers or plimsoles (no wellies)
Handkerchiefs
2 Spare shirts or T-shirts (Scout Group T-shirts please - available from Skip)
2 Pairs of socks
Knife, fork, spoon and teaspoon in small bag (not polythene)
Plate, bowl, mug and egg cup (all unbreakable) in a draw string type bag (not polythene)
2 Tea towels
Torch
Shoe cleaning kit
Needle and thread
Stamped and home-addressed postcard (safe arrival notice)
Pen and pencil
Small notebook
Campfire blanket.

In addition an old pair of plimsoles or similar for paddling in the stream. Please no inflatable airbeds; they are inconvenient in small tents shared by several others, it is far better to use a thick blanket under the sleeping bag.

All kit to be neatly packed in suitable rucksack, kitbag or holdall. No polythene sacks or bags.

All Kit to be fully marked with the Scout's or Cub's name

A rucksack is an important item of kit for camps, Scouting generally and other activities outside Scouting, but if you are unable to acquire one, the Group has two rucksacks that they loan out at a charge of £5 per week, on a first come basis.
